How To Make A Magazine Christmas Tree

Hey there! Some links on this page are affiliate links which means that, if you choose to make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

I love finding new ways to make Christmas trees, and this one is super simple.  Find out here how to make a Christmas tree out of magazines.

The size of the magazine doesn’t matter.  If you have some different sizes, that’ll make your display more interesting.  Or you might want to make a statement with one lovely tree.

Anybody could do this project.  There’s no cutting involved.

In fact, you could do the first parts of this project in front of the TV with a glass of wine.

Have a look and see if you like the idea.

Supplies Needed

Step-By-Step Instructions

  • If your magazine is the type with a spine, fold the magazine back and forward to soften the spine. This is the middle of your tree, so you want it to be invisible.
  • Bend the first page back from the top right-hand corner to the spine.
  • Repeat for the whole magazine.
  • Fold the uppermost corner of the first page over to the spine, lining it up in a straight line against the spine.
  • Repeat for the whole magazine.
  • There will be little triangle shapes at the bottom below the level of the magazine. Fold each of these backward and underneath; that is, out of sight.  Make sure the fold is defined so it won’t flap down again.
  • Repeat for the whole magazine.
  • Stand the magazine up and arrange it in the tree shape.
  • When I tried this, I needed to put a staple from the front page to the back page, which are now next to each other, but maybe you won’t need to.
  • Apply spray adhesive all over the tree.
  • Shake and sprinkle glitter all over it. Leave it to dry.

When you’re used to doing this, you can do all 3 steps for each page as you work your way through the magazine.
